Fiserv is extending its popular Clover point-of-sale (POS) platform into the healthcare sector through a strategic partnership with healthcare payments specialist Rectangle Health.
The collaboration will introduce Clover PracticePay, a payment solution developed specifically for small to mid-sized healthcare providers. The new system is expected to become available in early 2026, marking the first time Clover will offer a product tailored to the needs of the healthcare industry.
While Clover has long served businesses in retail, food service, and personal services, this move represents a significant expansion into a fast-growing and heavily regulated market. PracticePay aims to streamline the patient billing experience while helping providers stay compliant with healthcare-specific data and privacy requirements such as HIPAA and PCI standards.
According to a statement released Monday, PracticePay will offer features such as installment plans, recurring billing, QR code payments, text-to-pay functionality, and integrated online portals. The platform is designed to work alongside a provider’s existing practice management software and offers a unified interface through Clover’s branded dashboard.
Katie Whalen, Senior Vice President of Small Business Strategy at Fiserv, emphasized the importance of the healthcare vertical. “This solution enables our financial institution partners to better serve healthcare professionals in their communities,” she said.
Rectangle Health CEO Dominick Colabella also expressed enthusiasm about the joint initiative. “By combining our healthcare expertise with Clover’s leading POS technology, we’re delivering a powerful tool for providers who want to simplify payments and focus on patient care,” he said.
Fiserv, headquartered in Milwaukee, acquired Clover in 2019 through its purchase of First Data. The company has since expanded Clover’s footprint, most recently by partnering with Klarna and targeting upscale dining establishments.
With this new push into healthcare, Fiserv aims to provide modern, compliant financial tools to a wider range of professionals, including those in primary care, dentistry, and mental health.
